How the Task Force operates, and its goals
The goal of the committee is to create documents which help the faculty navigate ethical questions. The deliverables might be:
- A study of the situation based on reviewing the codes, and issuing some guidelines which can help faculty members make informed decisions
OR
- A best-practice, which the Task Force feels should be followed by all faculty members. In this case the best-practice would be passed onto the faculty for vote, and also reviewed by the Professional Training and Standards Committee
The process to be followed is:
- Draw up a list of ethical questions to be addressed
- Agree on which questions should be addressed first
- Work through each question
- Decide if it needs to be addressed by a guideline or a best-practice
- Present their conclusions to the faculty for implementation
